Hello Scrappers, I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter/ Spring Break Holiday. We were lucky to have had beautiful weather and I hope you were able to take some time off to enjoy it. Now Special Memories is gearing up for our favorite time of the year, “SUMMER”. I have many fun events and classes planned to celebrate the upcoming holidays such as: National Scrapbook Day, Mother’s Day, Graduation, and Father’s Day. With all of these events fast approaching in your life I know you will have plenty of special photo’s to scrapbook. The crop filled up in one day thanks to your entheusism and speedy response to the email. On Saturday, May 6th we will have a bouquet of balloons, which will have different discount amounts or promotional item giveaways inside each balloon. Everyone will get to pop a balloon during checkout and receive their discount off their “ENTIRE PURCHASE”. The discounts will be ranging from %5 to %50 off your entire product purchase. ****Mini Book Club of the Month**** **This is one of our most popular classes. ** Karen Tabor is our new in house mini book professional. If you haven’t attended one of mini book classes, well you should. She is extremely patient, innovative and creative. She is addicted to mini books and she has many new ideas that she is willing to introduce to you over the next several months. We will offer at least one mini book class a month. We will always let you know the theme and style of the album in each newsletters class listings. *Saturday, May 13th 11-2 – Mini Star Book. The albums theme is Mothers Day.
Trash to Treasure Sale After many requests I have decided to offer our 1st Trash to Treasure sale on Saturday, June 24th. As you know, one cropper’ trash in another one’s treasure. With the Scrapbook industry moving at such a fast pace, some of you have become scrapbook supply collectors. This is your opportunity to sale it and receive a store credit to purchase some new treasures. Please label all of your items with your name and price. Bring it to the store Saturday, June 24th at 9-10am. For a small fee of $5.00 you can leave your items on the tables and we will do our best to sell them for you. You need to return Sunday, June 25th 1-5pm to pick up your remaining items and your Special Memories store credit. Summer Scrapper Camp Session I – June 12th-16th Session II – June 26th-30th Session III – July 10th-14th Our camp is set up as one week sessions and run from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. The campers must be ages 7-13. An entire week of scrapbooking will be a great opportunity for your child to create special memories of a lifetime. Not only can their creativity and imaginations flow, a scrapbook instructor will show them the basics of scrapbooking from the first day. The fee is $130.00, which gives your child the use of all non-consumable supplies (various punches, templates, markers and die cuts), as well as a $25.00 store allowance to buy paper, stickers, die-cuts and other scrapbook supplies and accents during their week of camp. Each camper will also receive a 12x12 album or a $10.00 credit to be applied toward their store credit. We will begin each morning of camp with a two page layout. I will introduce the campers to a new scrapbooking technique every day so they can incorporate these ideas into their own layouts. All materials for the layouts and projects are included in your camp fee. Each camper will be required to have his/her own acid free adhesive, scissors or paper trimmer, and their special photos. All supplies can be purchased through us before camp starts. Each session is available for the first 12 that pre-register and pre-pay. Call (225) 343-6560 to save your seat. Double Stamp Day Wednesday is double stamp day for the months of May and June. Changing the days every two months allows more of our customers to participate in these double reward days. Please come in and join us to learn the basics of scrap booking. Bring in 5-10 photos in one particular theme and let us guide you on how to select your paper and embellishments to enhance that page. You will learn everything you need to know about adhesives, albums and cutting systems. The cost for this class is $10.00. All basic supplies are provided in this class, except for the paper and embellishments that you choose to use on your page. This a great class for adults and children that are yearning to learn how to scrapbook. Distressed With Wild Asparagus -Wednesday, March 22nd6-8 – We will be creating a beautiful layout with the paper and coordinating elements from the new wild asparagus line. We will embellish this layout with slotted staples, ribbon, paper flowers chipboard and much, much more. The theme of this class is “Birthday”. This layout was designed to be used for a birthday of anyone and any age, so please come join us for this class. School Days Mini Pocket pullout book Class- Sunday, March 26th 1-4pm. This is the cutest mini book and it is all the rage right now. This class will teach you how to build a mini scrapbook from scratch using chipboard, cardstock, and ribbon and embellished with embossed school days stickers. This is a great technique to learn and reuse for any special occasion. This is the perfect little book to give fill with photos and give to a relative. Supplies needed are: scissors, trimmer, terrifically tacky tape, paper piercer. The cost for this class is $30.00 Easter Star Mini book Class- Saturday, April 8th 1-4pm. This is the cutest mini book and it is all the rage right now. This class will teach you how to build a mini scrapbook from scratch using chipboard, cardstock, and ribbon and embellished with embossed Easter stickers. This is a great technique to learn and reuse for any special occasion. This is the perfect little book to give fill with photos and give to a relative. Supplies needed are: scissors, trimmer, terrifically tacky tape, paper piercer. The cost for this class is $30.00 “Album in a Day Class” (ABC BOOK)- Sunday, April 2nd 2-5. This class is back by popular demand. I have found a great new 8x8 ABC kit while I was shopping at the CHA Show. It is beautiful printed paper for every letter of the ABC. We are going to use a kit of this paper and embellish each page to provide texture and dimension to his album. Please sign up early so I can be sure to have all the kits ready for all class attendees. This class is $50.00 which includes all materials and the 8x8 album. Supplies needed are: scissors, trimmer, brown fluid chalk, paper piercer, and adhesive. ALL CROPS AND CLASSES MUST BE PREPAID OR GUARANTEED WITH A CREDIT CARD. YOU MUST CANCEL AT LEAST 24 HOURS IN ADVANCE NOT TO BE CHARGED FOR A CLASS OR CROP. We must have at least 4 people in signed up to hold a class. If you miss your class, you packet will be saved for you, but no written instructions will come with it. You will have to come in and use the sample to assemble your kit.
